The Five Core Propositions
- Teachers are committed to students and their learning through technology. I plan to incorporate technology in my teaching. I believe that technology is an effective method of instruction and has great potential in the classroom. There is a variety of excellent educational tools on the internet that I can use to enhance my instruction. I plan to use the school's learning management system to upload the syllabus and course material. I also plan to use social media such as Facebook and Twitter to encourage communication and collaboration amongst my students.
- Teachers know the subjects they teach and how to teach these subjects to students using technology. I consider myself new to the field of Curriculum & Instruction. However, I plan to study a Ph.D. in order to be well-versed and obtain the knowledge required to teach my students to be excellent educators. In my master's ECDOL program, I learned about many technical tools available on the internet and learned how to use them to enhance my instruction. I plan to use MOOCs to
- Teachers are responsible for managing and monitoring student learning using technology. There are many technological tools that aid teachers in constructing assessment and monitoring student learning. In my master's program I was introduced to iClickers, a device which aids instructors in managing large classrooms and monitoring student. I was also introduced to a variety of learning management systems. I plan to use these tools in my career as a teacher to engage with my students and monitor their learning.
